  This is a well-designed market that encourages strolling through the storefronts, many of which are unique, uncommon, or offer a different spin on the usual fare. Take Kids Adventure Cutz, for example. They are a haircutting place themed in pirates. They let kids select a movie to watch or a game to play while they are getting their hair cut. Awesome stuff. I make a 45 minute drive here just for that, but there is so much more to explore.

  The Market at Oakland has a few-restaurants inc (1) pizza pickup/delivery, a big-box clothing-store, a bigbox store, a few boutique shops, a gas-station and convenience-store (trust me, skip their coffee), a mail store (not USPS), and yep, thats about it. Within proximity there is a hospital, a lake with camping, a pirate-themed miniature-golf course, a few banks, a new (as of '18) Lowe's Home Improvement, a hospital with ER, and behind the hospital and (coming Summer '18) is Costco warehouse club. My view is, as it looks now, a more-realistic date is: Nov '18. They'll want to open just before or during Holiday Season and esp. capture those pre-XMAS and New Year's sales, so of-course this is a sure thing. Two largest subdivisions nearby: Park West, Dunes West.
