  Today I walked into this store looking for a specific kind of shoe that I had seen earlier on the internet. As soon as my girlfriend and I walked in, Laura's greeting was "hi, can i help you find something?" I said "no, I was looking for a specific kind of shoe, but thank you!". she then replies, "Oh, well all of our sales items are over here", pointing across the store. I laugh a bit and say "No thank you, i didn't see what i was looking for", to which Laura says "like Birkenstocks?" My girlfriend, who is from South Carolina, and lives with me in Mount Pleasant said no. As we walked out we looked at each other and said "did that just happened?"... how or why would a person greet someone to a store assuming they are looking for a sale or flip flops. Needless to say I walked back in the store and politely ask what was her name. I feel this was a complete disgrace and unacceptable behavior of someone who is the forefront of such a big company. I am sure I make 4 times the salary of that girl. As a customer service manager for a company that has been awarded multiple JD Power awards, I train my direct reports to never assume, because we all know what happens when you ASSume.
